product description
Based on Honeywell's proven Experion platform technology, the R300 provides: Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) R300 is a field-proven, reinvented and improved Honeywell automation and control platform hardware and software Version. The release of this latest product once again demonstrates that Honeywell has always been committed to inventing innovations and providing best-in-class solutions to protect customers' existing investments. The R300 provides an easy upgrade method, allowing current customers to upgrade their systems without disrupting operations.
The Evolution of Honeywell Process Control
Since Honeywell first launched distributed control system technology in 1974, Honeywell automation systems have been installed more than 11,000 sets worldwide, with a total system value of 15 billion US dollars, making it one of the largest suppliers in the automation industry one.
Honeywell has been continuously developing its own control system to meet the needs of customers and industries, from the initial TDC 2000 to TDC 3000, to TPS, to PlantScape, and finally released a new generation of process knowledge system in April 2002 Experion. Using state-of-the-art technology, Experion improves process efficiency, a hallmark of DCS systems, significantly enhancing asset availability and reliability, operator efficiency, and business decision-making.
Experion R300 Key Features and Benefits
Based on Honeywell's proven Experion platform technology, the R300 offers:
· The vertically designed C-Series I/O, tilted at an 18-degree angle, minimizes the occupied control room space; reduces energy, installation and maintenance costs; and provides optimal performance. Competitor systems can be 5% - 75% larger and cost more, with some control rooms costing over $750 per square foot. This new sloped design allows heat to flow evenly through the cabinet, improving product life and reducing energy costs. An integrated, two-stage terminal block with easy access provides easy access for wiring installation and maintenance.
· A new type of control firewall prevents computer security leaks in key systems and ensures system availability. Firewalls prevent Ethernet flooding and denial of service attacks at the control plane. Only control-specific messages are sent to the controller, preventing speed drops or complete shutdowns. Plus, it requires no configuration or expertise to start taking advantage of these security benefits.
· The unique automated Experion backup and restore feature protects PC system data with online backup and quick restore. This capability supports continuous backup while online, allowing customers to continue operations while protecting data. Most PCs can be down for several days, and this new process can be back up and running in less than an hour. It requires minimal user intervention and backs up the operating system and all application and configuration information. It can be scheduled by the user or perform online backups itself with minimal impact on performance.
· Integrate best-practice procedural operations for system startup and shutdown to improve operator performance. Honeywell's procedural operations software and services, designed with members of the Abnormal Situation Management (ASM®) consortium, leverage the knowledge operators have accumulated over the years executing cyclical procedures to prevent system outages that would otherwise often Lost due to personnel changes. Retaining this knowledge is critical: ASM research shows that 14 percent of all accidents are caused in part by poorly implemented operating procedures; one program even reported losing $12 million over four years.
· The new C300 controller provides powerful and robust control functions for the Experion platform, embedded with Honeywell's proven Control Execution Environment (Control Execution Environment, CEE) software. The controller runs the same CEE software as the C200, shares information with current C200 controllers, and features the same configuration tools, demonstrating Honeywell's commitment to protecting customers' investments.
· The upgraded Fieldbus Interface Module (Fieldbus Interface Module, FIM) inherits Honeywell's tradition of providing scalable and economical Fieldbus integration solutions. The C-series FIM provides four H1 link interfaces, doubling the number of link channels and reducing the number of FIMs required. The modules are redundantly configured and the networking modules are installed on Honeywell's patented fault-tolerant Ethernet.
Experion: in the best traditions
The unique features of Experion PKS R300 add even more value to the well-respected process knowledge system. The following outlines the basic features and benefits of Experion.
Process Knowledge System: Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) is a technological breakthrough, a process automation system unmatched by any other system. Experion PKS unifies people with process, business and asset management to help process manufacturers increase profitability and productivity. It is the only process automation system that focuses on people and the knowledge they possess.
Integrated Platform and Applications: Experion improves business performance and confidence by capturing and integrating process and business data throughout the facility, delivering information and knowledge when and where it is needed to make the right decisions. At the heart of Experion PKS is the Experion Platform, which provides the foundation for integrating all process control and safety management, including non-Honeywell systems, under one unified platform. Experion applications built into the Experion platform improve process performance, asset and personnel efficiency, and business agility.
Exception Management: Experion PKS is the only process automation system with an embedded exception management solution based on the findings of the Exception Management Consortium. The Abnormal Situation Management Alliance is a joint research and development consortium of 10 major companies and universities. These solutions address everything that can disrupt a production process, from equipment failure to process failure to operator error.
Redundant PM/IO HART: The newly released Experion PKS platform provides a first-class redundancy solution for the HART communication protocol, allowing plant operators and maintenance personnel to obtain comprehensive field device information directly through the Experion PKS platform. HART solutions improve system performance, increase process availability, safety, and throughput, while enabling upgrades and maintenance of smart field devices, reducing lifecycle costs.
In a process-centric approach:
Experion PKS takes a process-centric rather than an instrument-centric approach to asset management. This approach connects once isolated knowledge silos in the supply chain to the right people at the right time, improving decision making and reducing incidents. With quick and easy access to all system equipment and process data, Experion PKS can diagnose and maintain system control and field equipment assets as well as legacy process-based assets. Honeywell is the only automation supplier that can seamlessly integrate the control system with the existing information system.
Full integration of previous Honeywell process automation systems and third-party systems: When evolving to the Experion PKS system, Experion PKS can fully utilize the functions of previous Honeywell systems and third-party systems to provide continuous evolution and Investment protection capabilities. The features of Experion R200 are as follows:
· Experion Server TPS (ESVT) can fully integrate TotalPlant Network (TPN) with Experion platform, bringing TPN into the field of Experion.
·Experion Station TPS (ES-T) adopts a modern human-machine interface, which provides a common operator interface for the Experion platform and TPS, improving the work efficiency of operators.
Fault Tolerant Ethernet: By adopting Fault Tolerant Ethernet (FTE) control network for C200 controller, Experion platform improves fault tolerance, safety protection and faster response capability, improves system availability, and reduces commissioning and maintenance costs.
Profit® Loop: The Profit Loop algorithm embedded in the Experion platform is an algorithm invented and patented by Honeywell, which reduces asset maintenance costs and increases process stability by 30%. It can predict the impact of past, present and future control activities, and provide the controller with the necessary process knowledge, so that it can know exactly how much the process can be improved to achieve the desired control objectives.
Experion Services: Honeywell recognizes that a product alone does not constitute a solution. That's why Honeywell offers a complete set of high-value Experion services to help customers leverage automation investments to improve business performance, once and for all. Experion supports easy upgrades and evolutions from previous Honeywell systems and third-party systems. Users can easily and continuously evolve to Experion, maximizing the full utilization of previous Honeywell systems. Honeywell is the only process automation supplier committed to continuous technology evolution
